Description

A delicious cherry bake perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh pitted cherries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss cherries with ¼ cup sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and remaining sugar. Stir in milk and melted butter until combined.
  4. Add vanilla extract to the batter and mix well.
  5. Pour half the batter into a greased baking dish. Spread cherry mixture over it, then drizzle remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
