This decadent chocolate lava cake is rich, gooey, and perfect for serving warm with ice cream.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold in half of the chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared dish.
- Carefully pour hot water over the batter without stirring.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is set but soft underneath.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
